Topic: Website Moving to Movable Type
18:04 Sunday, 3 Jul 2005

Soon I will be relaunching my blog and it will be running on Movable Type as I need to have a system that is more configurable and able to accept comments. There will also be a new URL for the blog. I had to do this as I wanted to keep this blog while the new one was being setup. It is not complete but you can see it here http://blog.lonesniper.com.

Topic: Website Top Google search
20:08 Thursday, 21 Apr 2005

I am getting some strange results from my new website tracking service that monitors visitors to my site. It seems I am big in Hong Kong and get quiet a few visitors from their mostly directed by Google.com. Looking through the log today I noticed that if you search for ‘jon stewart at starbucks’ on Google I am top of the list. Which is strange as I write a lot about Starbucks and have written about Jon Stewart but never referenced together. Anyway it is good to be first at one search result.

Topic: Website Blogging Software
22:18 Tuesday, 18 Jan 2005

I use Personal Weblog to run this site and at the start it was exactly what I needed. However now I feel I need more features like comments and a proper RSS feed, so I have been looking at two other blogging software programs. I am testing MovableType and WordPress to see which one has the best features, which is easiest to use and which one is easiest for me to customize so I can keep my current site design. Check out KentRangers.com for a look at WordPress and syndicateONE.net for a look at MovableType.

I am also relaunching syndicateONE.net as a tech resource site.

Topic: Website Lonesniper.com MOBILE
18:46 Sunday, 9 Jan 2005

The blog section of Lonesniper.com is now available especially formatted for the PocketPC or other mobile devices with a 240x320 screen. I will add a script to the main page to automatically take mobile users to that site but in the mean time you can view the page at www.lonesniper.com/mobile.php
